Precision Technology Ten Year Limited Wear Through Warranty for Residential Hardwood Flooring Customers

The tremendous durability of our products combined with stringent quality control standards enables us to provide a Ten Year Limited Wear Through Warranty for the following precision-engineered products: Precision Nautilus, Precision Neptune, Swedish Finish for Pros and Swedish Crown Top Coat finish products. This warranty covers these finish products for interior residential use purchased after April 1, 2002. The Precision Ten Year Limited Warranty provides the following benefits:

Precision Technology LLC Ten Year wear Through Finish Warranty

We warrant the finish to not wear through for ten years from the date of original purchase, when maintained according to our recommended maintenance instructions and shall not be transferable from original purchaser. This warranty applies to surface wear-through that exceeds 10% or more of the finished floor. Surface wear must be visible. Any reduction or changes in the sheen level shall not be considered surface wear. The finish wear warranty applies only to normal residential use and traffic. It does not cover damage caused by water, pets, erosion, dents, gravel, scratches or improper maintenance. Should the original finish be recoated with another finish other than Precision Technology finishes, the Ten Year Wear Through Finish Warranty will be voided.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

All Precision Technology Products are made with the customer's complete satisfaction in mind. The following steps must be taken in the unlikely event you have a claim:

  1. All claims must be made in writing.
  2. Send a notice of the claim to your Precision Technology
    dealer where the product purchase was made. Your claim must
    be made within 30 days from the date the problem occurs.
  3. All instructions must be followed according to our warranty
    guidelines. We reserve the right to inspect any floors in
    question to determine claim validity.
  4. Proof of purchase must be available for our review.

EXCLUSION FROM COVERAGE

Precision Technology will not be liable in any way nor will the Precision Ten Year Limited Wear Through Warranty apply in the event of the following circumstances:

a. Normal Traffic Variations - Reduction or changes in sheen level is considered a normal variation and is not defined as wear. Color changes in the wood and/or finish over time is considered a normal traffic variation. Additionally, a normal traffic variation also applies to areas of the floor which may be covered with rugs or other objects that could affect the color and overall appearance of the floor over time.

b. Improper Application or Maintenance - Finish application and maintenance must be in accordance with our written instructions. Only Precision Technology Products are to be used in the application and maintenance process. Use of other products, compounds or chemicals will void this warranty.

c. Improper Use - We do not assume responsibility for any finish or flooring damage caused by misuse, abuse, damage by accident or other events beyond our control. This Ten Year Limited Wear Through Warranty does not extend to damage caused by heavy furniture or equipment, pets, damage caused by impact, damage or scratches caused by sharp or pointed objects, damage by water, improper foot traffic or damage caused by excessive or continued exposure to direct sunlight. The warranty only applies to finish used indoors.

d. Extreme Environmental Conditions - We cannot assume any responsibility for any unusual environmental or climatic conditions such as exposure to extreme heat or cold, moisture/humidity/aridity or rapid fluctuations in any such conditions.

e. Alterations/Repairs - This warranty does not cover any alterations (including refinishing) or repairs made to the finish with other compounds or products than those specified and approved
by Precision Technology LLC.

PRECISION TECHNOLOGY LLC ONLY WARRANTS THE FINISH. SINCE THE APPLICATION OF THE PRODUCT IS OUT OF OUR CONTROL, PRECISION TECHNOLOGY DOES NOT IMPLY OR WARRANT THE APPLICATION OF THE PRODUCT IN ANY WAY. THEREFORE, PRECISION TECHNOLOGY LLC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RELATED LABOR, APPLICATION OR REFINISHING COSTS THAT EXCEED THE COST OF THE FLOOR FINISH. PRECISION TECHNOLOGY, LLC HAS THE OPTION OF PROVIDING REPLACEMENT PRODUCT OR REIMBURSING THE ORIGINAL COST OF THE FINISH.

PRECISION TECHNOLOGY LLC IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT COST OF THE FINISHES USED.

Our warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and to finished floors at the original installation address and is not transferable. All warranties expire if the product or installation is transferred or resold. The above criteria constitutes the complete and only warranty provided by Precision Technology LLC in connection with specified Precision Floor Finish products and does not apply to any other product than Precision Technology floor finishes or any such other product in any conditions other than normal residential applications with normal traffic load and conditions. This warranty is limited to only residential use and does not apply to commercial or industrial use.

THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHICH MAY BE IMPOSED BY LAW, SHALL BE THE LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN. NO RETAILER, INSTALLER, DEALER, AGENT, OR EMPLOYEE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO INCREASE OR ALTER THE TERMS OR COVERAGE OF THIS WARRANTY.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL PRECISION TECHNOLOGY LLC BE LIABLE OR IN ANY MANNER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CLAIM, LOSS, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, REGARDLESS OF THEORY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOSS OF TIME OR USE OR ANY INCONVENIENCE, OR ANY PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES.

This warranty is provided exclusively by PRECISION TECHNOLOGY LLC. No other parties can warrant either directly or indirectly any PRECISION TECHNOLOGY products.

HOW STATE LAW APPLIES

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which may vary, from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you in such states. Some states do not allow limitation on the length any implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

EVIDENCE OF THE PURCHASE AND THE IDENTITY OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER IS A CONDITION FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE. THEREFORE, KEEP ALL INSTALLATION AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT OF PURCHASE IN A SAFE PLACE .

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR RESIDENTIAL WOOD FLOOR

With proper care, your floors can be enjoyed for a lifetime. To keep your Precision finish looking good for a long time, we recommend the following maintenance steps:

Improving The Life Of Your Wood Floors

  1. Remove dry dirt, loose debris, etc. to avoid scratches.
  2. Dampen a Precision Mop with Precision Wood & Laminate Floor Spray Cleaner to clean the wood floor in
    8 x 8 sections. Never spray any product directly on the wood floor.
  3. Mop each section with a Precision Mop in a back and forth motion.
  4. When dirty, change out the mop cloth with a clean terry cloth.
  5. Heel marks, stubborn spots, etc. can be removed by spraying Precision Wood & Laminate Spray Cleaner on a clean cloth and wipe vigorously over the spotted areas.

Maintenance Tips

  1. Immediately wipe up spills with Precision Wood & Laminate Spray Cleaner with the Precision Mop or a soft cloth.
  2. To protect the floor against scratches, equip all furniture with furniture glides or felt pads.
  3. Vacuum the floor regularly to remove dirt and grit.
  4. Use doormats at the entry ways to trap dirt and debris. Area rugs are well suited in high traffic areas and where the floor might be exposed to moisture, i.e., in front of the dish washer, kitchen sink, and bathroom doors.

    Note: Do not place rugs on the floor until two weeks after the finish has been applied. Also, do not use door mats or rugs with rubber backing or other material which might prevent the floor to breathe.
  5. Avoid walking on your wood floor with high heel shoes.
  6. Use only Precision Wood & Laminate Spray Cleaner on your floors. Other household cleaners might cause build-up and/or damage your wood floor.
  7. Launder mop cloths regularly.
  8. Always use clean mop cloth covers.
  9. Minor scratches and wear are to be expected with wood floors. Scratches may be touched up with Precision
    Floor Finish or the floor may be recoated to look its best.
  10. When floors begin to look dull, recoat with Precision Floor Finish.
